Mukulika's mission is to provide a platform to young artists pursuing their passion in the field of Indian classical dance forms. The theme this year is 'HOPE'. As we all know Art is the best form of healing and recovery, and provides solace in the times of stress. It reduces barriers between people, cultures and languages. Mukulika 2021 is a step by NDT to reinforce the importance of creativity, hope, and compassion in these unprecedented times.
2018 spring PERFORMANCE
Vilaya - "The Confluence of Many Streams"
Nandanik Dance Troupe, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, presented the first ever Indian Dance Festival in Pittsburgh VILAYA - "The confluence of many streams" in April 2018 at the historic Andrew Carnegie Library and Music Hall, Carnegie, PA. Nandanik Dance Troupe has been selected to receive the Lift Grant from Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. We intend to create widespread awareness about the art and culture of the local Indian community through dances, panel discussions, information, and exhibition on one platform by artists from USA, Canada, and India.
The festival was open to an audience of more than 400 encompassing all professions, ages, organizations, and economic strata. The Lift grant partially covered the costs of this event. We urged you to contribute at any level to make this special musical- cultural festival a grand success. The following sponsorship opportunities are available for your consideration. In celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Nandanik Dance Troupe presented “Card Country”, one of his most entertaining dance dramas based on the play “Tasher Desh” on April 21, 2012.
